May & June Wrap Up

May defied my expectations! Somehow I managed to read NINE BOOKS?! It hardly seems possibly considering how busy I’ve been lately but I did it and I’m feeling a sense of pride at my accomplishment.

It’s funny because I set out to read six books only to get sucked into a romance binge and ended up reading some of the cutest books! I did manage to read a contemporary and some fantasy as well in between.

I also attended a few fun events in May as well including an author event hosted by HCCFrenzy and my first Penguin Teen Social! It’s always so much fun meeting people and getting to hang out with my fave bookworms! The author event was Victoria Aveyard (who I met last year as well), Maya Motayne & Tahereh Mafi and they were all so amazing and their Q&A was hilarious! I also got to get my books signed afterward, which is always a plus. Penguin Teen Canada was gracious enough to provide pizza, wine, and popsicles and somehow it was the hottest day ever! But we made the most of it and had a blast.

Here are the books I read in May:

June was definitely a different pace and while I set a TBR again, I didn’t get to the last book because I got a cold a few days before the month ended and my reading motivation was zero. I also technically added a book in because of a blog tour so I did read the same number of books I set out to read. That last book will just have to wait!

In June I also attended the TeensRead Preview hosted by Raincoast Books and it was a blast seeing my fellow bookworms and learning about all the upcoming fall titles. There were of course doughnuts provided and you bet I had one! Day after National Doughnut Day, it was a must.

Here are the books I read in June:

Safe to say it’s been a pretty solid two months of reading and I’m hoping I can keep up the pace! Lately reading has been as easy as breathing and I’m not stressing over my massive TBR like I used to. My mood reading has definitely lightened up and while I do get the urge to read certain books I still make sure to stick with my TBR. Anyway, you can find most of my reviews for these books here. I’m hoping to have them all written soon!

What have you been reading lately? Have we been reading any of the same books? Are any of these on your TBR? Let me know in the comments!
