Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun.

Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.

Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them…right?divider_line (1)
Review: This book! This booooook! My heart feels so full after reading Josh and Hazel’s story. I’m so completely obsessed with this book! It had me in tears from laughing so hard I could NOT STOP! Everything Hazel does and says is straight up hilarious. I was definitely not expecting this to be so funny, but every single page had me cackling. Josh and Hazel’s story just brought me so much all round joy and I had a smile on my face the whole time reading. If this was made into a movie, I’d rewatch it a thousand and one times, just sayin’. It’s the perfect romantic comedy!

Hazel Bradford is my new favourite character. She has no filter, no shame, and the best part is that she embraces her weird. In her own words, she is undatable because men usually think she’s too much and she’s not changing herself for anyone. The first time she sees Josh Im, she knows that they will become great friends. Her only experiences with him include her throwing up on his shoes, sending drug-induced emails, and him walking in on her having sex. It’s not until nearly ten years later that she encounters him again at her best friend’s BBQ when she discovers that Josh is actually her BFF’s brother.

Hazel and Josh become unofficial roommates and to help him through his breakup they decide to set each other up on blind dates. Every single one is a total train wreck and they end up paying more attention to each other than their dates. So they basically date each other indirectly, but they both believe they are completely incompatible for each other. But these things rarely ever work out without romantic feelings getting in the way.

Christina Lauren has done it again with another great romance! It’s a great-friends-to-lovers romance about embracing the weird as well as letting in love. There is so much so much chemistry and it’s a total slow burn! I was swooning so much because Josh and Hazel are just so perfect. I highly recommend this one and you won’t want to put it down.
