Title: Justice League
Release Date: November 17, 2017
Going into this movie I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect considering the majority of these characters are seeing the big screen for the first time in the DCEU.
For me, Batman v. Superman was definitely a letdown. The whole storyline was a chaotic mess and the only redeeming parts had Wonder Woman in them.
Now I was kind of expecting a lot more from Justice League because the trailers looked good and the movie had a lot of hype surrounding it. If we’re being completely honest my favourite parts had Aquaman and The Flash in them. They were cast perfectly in my opinion as well as the wonderful Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Batman on the other hand….just yikes. Ben Affleck is a no-go from me because his acting isn’t there and his portrayal of Batman is a sad imitation. Can we please bring Christian Bale back?
Plot-wise I can see where Justice League was headed with the whole team up and break apart only to come together and save the world thing. It did feel a bit blah to me though because there wasn’t any natural chemistry between the heroes. There was too much resistance for them to be considered a team and maybe the movie needed to be stretched out a little more to explore this.
Overall Justice League was an okay movie at best. It did have its moments of humour and action, but it just wasn’t what I expected. One thing I will say is that I’m looking forward to Aquaman because Jason Momoa is a total badass.
